Birdland Audio to ship its Odéon 24 bit DAC in June.

Pacific Grove, California (April 8th, 1998), Birdland Audio announces it will introduce its 24 bits Delta-Sigma digital to analog converter in June. The Odéon 24 bit DAC, is setting a new standard in music restitution quality by allowing the conversion of new 24 bits high resolution digital audio sources as well as existing 16 bits/44.1 kHz CDs and other formats.

The Od&eacue;on-m1 is an progressive DAC which not only offers three digital inputs (fiber and coax) but also three analog bypasses allowing the user to connect existing legacy analog products through the all-passive switching output stage. An additional mixed mode monitor can be used to connect either an external all digital monitor (such as a DAT), a all analog monitor (such as an analog tape deck) or a mixed monitor.

"The Audio market is taking a turn with the long awaited availability of 24 bits / 96 kHz Digital Audio Disk on the consumer market", says Gilles Gameiro, founder and designer of the Odéon DAC; "The support for future 24 bits and the versatility of the Odéon DAC makes it a must have component in todays audiophile system". The product will be exhibited for the first time at Hi-Fi’98 in Birdland Audio’s room #643 and will start shipping shortly after the show.
